![]() ![]() The usefulness of Succubi and Bards is by no means limited to these abilities alone. You should consider abilities like Seduce and Charm as side-effects and use the units at their full effectiveness. It looks to me that bards are best used defensively(or going along with regular race units as supports), while the rest of the rogue's class units excel in offense. ![]() Fortunately, Succubi solve this problem but they come a while later and, in the meantime, you need to make some use of bards. Bards are not as good as I would like them to, because they are supports(not irregular) and you cannot include them in armies made up of irregulars without significantly slowing them down but they are excellent archery units. For example, rogue units get sabotage which work like a charm against machines. Even against units immune to mind affecting spells, the rogue's units have other aces hidden in their sleeves. I think I have provided enough information here to see what you are missing. ![]() Goblins make the best rogues, in my humble opinion, and, as I said, rogues should always take explorer and I think Partizan suits them well, too.Ī failed curse cuts the movement of the affected unit significantly. Rogues are for those that like to win using dirty tricks. Each class suits best a specific playstyle. Sneak past the enemy armies and strike the opponent at its weakest point, using the crippling overland spells at places least expected. Make use of the spells and abilities available to you to immobilize, backstab, taunt, charm, seduce, cripple, blind and whatever dirty trick you have in the book in order to bring those tough opponents down. Do not expect to play them like a Warlord and have results. Rogue class units specialize in dirty fighting, subterfuge and mischief. Rogues should always get explorer, in my opinion, because it buffs irregulars and rogues have a bunch of irregular units(including scoundrels). However, they are cheap, have good abilities and get evolved to lesser shadow stalkers. Tier I are pretty dead midgame, especially if used carelessly. Mixed with assassins, bards, pity the enemy. It is pretty awesome! They are fast, they are hard to take down(a Succubus on guard is a pretty damn wall for both physical and magical damage :/). Seduce causes shaken in a failed attempt. ![]() This allows them to seduce more efficiently. ![]()
